This initiative comes from a number of former RCW players. They recently retired from rugby because the physical side of rugby caused too many injuries. After they stopped she missed the rugby, the team feeling and the fun at the club. That’s why they picked up the idea to go for a touch on Friday evening.

Because there is no physical contact with touch rugby, it is extremely suitable:

  • for men and women (the training sessions are therefore also mixed)
  • for everyone who has played rugby themselves but now no longer wants physical contact because, for example, age will play a role
  • for people who only get to know the sport at a later age, it is usually difficult to get used to the physical contact and perhaps more pleasant to play touch rugby
  • for parents of youth members who already playing rugby is a very accessible way to get acquainted with rugby and to experience what their son or daughter is going through on the field
  • for rugby players who are recovering from an injury; for example, when you are recovering from a back injury, it is best to exercise but without contact until you are completely ready for full contact again

The walk-in is every Friday evening at 19.30. After a nice cup of coffee we start at 20.00 with the warming up. Then the touch competitions start, until about 21.00. Afterwards there will of course be a 3rd half in the clubhouse.
