Omdat eind augustus een drukke periode zou gaan worden met het Fialar en het petanque-toernooi werd in allerijl besloten om op vrijdag 15 augustus de eerste Friday Night Touch van het seizoen te doen. Na een peiling werd al snel duidelijk dat er voldoende animo was en zo stonden er uiteindelijk 19 touch’ers op een vers trainingsveld.
T1 is de variant die vanaf dit seizoen gespeeld gaat worden en qua implementatie van de spelregels ging het allemaal redelijk goed. Het verwerken van de bal ging nog wat minder, met passes richting de sterren en knock-ons was het nog geen hoogstaand spel. Maar ach, het seizoen is nog vers en er moeten ook punten ter verbetering zijn.
De eerstvolgende Friday Night Touch is op vrijdag 5 september. Dit seizoen zal er op iedere eerste vrijdag van de maand FNT Academy zijn, waarbij er uitleg is over de basisregels van T1 touch rugby en coaching hoe te spelen.
Op zondag 14 september organiseert RC Wageningen een touch-toernooi. Zet het vast in je agenda!
Because the end of August was expected to be a busy period with Fialar and the pétanque tournament, it was decided in haste to hold the first Friday Night Touch of the season on Friday, August 15. A quick poll showed there was enough interest, and in the end, 19 touch players gathered on a freshly prepared training field.
T1 is the variant that will be played from this season onwards, and the implementation of the rules went reasonably well. Ball handling, however, was a bit shaky, with passes flying towards the stars and a fair number of knock-ons — it wasn’t exactly top-level play. But hey, the season is still young, and there have to be areas for improvement.
The next Friday Night Touch will take place on Friday, September 5. This season, the FNT Academy will be held on the first Friday of every month, offering an introduction to the basic rules of T1 touch rugby and coaching on how to play.
