Zaterdag 22 november hebben de Cubs hun eerste wedstrijd in de Bowl gespeeld tegen R.C Waterland op thuisgrond. Deze club had al ervaring in de Bowl en onze Cubs waren redelijk onder de indruk. Hoewel het erg koud weer was, gaf de wedstrijd genoeg spanning om het warm te krijgen! De eerste tien minuten werden ze overdonderd maar aan het einde van de eerste helft kwam de eerste try en dat betekende een ommezwaai in het spel. In de tweede helft waren ze veel dominanter met goede rucks en passes. De scrums stonden als een huis en ze gaven niet op. Uiteindelijk driemaal gescoord en een bonuspunt gepakt. Met een eindscore van 26-34 hebben ze prachtig spel laten zien en klaar te zijn om in de Bowl te spelen.
On Saturday, November 22nd, the Cubs played their first Bowl match against R.C. Waterland on home ground. This club already had Bowl experience, and our Cubs were quite impressed. Although it was very cold, the match was exciting enough to keep everyone warm!
During the first ten minutes they were overwhelmed, but near the end of the first half they scored their first try, marking a turning point in the game. In the second half they were much more dominant with strong rucks and passes. The scrums were rock solid and they never gave up. In the end they scored three times and earned a bonus point. With a final score of 26–34, they showed great rugby and proved they are ready to compete in the Bowl.
