De stad Wageningen is onlosmakelijk verbonden met vrijheid. Traditiegetrouw wordt in de nacht van 4 op 5 mei het Bevrijdingsvuur ontstoken voor het historische Hotel de Wereld. Het Bevrijdingsvuur is hét symbool voor leven in vrede en vrijheid. Vanuit Wageningen vertrekken loopgroepen om het vuur door heel Nederland te verspreiden.
Op zondag 10 mei 2026 organiseert RC Wageningen het jeugd Bevrijdingstoernooi.

Een moment waarop we samen, in vrijheid een sportieve dag beleven. De stad Wageningen is onlosmakelijk verbonden met vrijheid. Traditiegetrouw wordt in de nacht van 4 op 5 mei het Bevrijdingsvuur ontstoken voor het historische Hotel de Wereld.
We willen op luchtige wijze het bijzondere van deze vrijheid, die misschien wel vanzelfsprekend is geworden voor jongeren, onder de aandacht brengen.
We sporten met elkaar, met de kernwaarden waar rugby voor staat: respect, discipline en kameraadschap.

Naast een gezellige en sportieve dag op ons toernooi, krijgt elke speler een picknick-lunch en een aandenken. Je inschrijving is compleet na betaling én onze bevestiging via email!

Youth Liberation tournament 2026
The city of Wageningen is inextricably linked to freedom. By tradition, on the night of 4 to 5 May, the Liberation Flame is lit in front of the historic Hotel de Wereld. The Liberation Flame is the symbol of living in peace and freedom. From Wageningen, running groups depart to spread the flame throughout the Netherlands.
On Sunday, 10 May 2026, RC Wageningen will organize the Youth Liberation Tournament.
A moment when we can enjoy a sporting day together, in freedom. The city of Wageningen is inextricably linked to freedom. By tradition, on the night of 4 to 5 May, the Liberation Flame is lit in front of the historic Hotel de Wereld.
In a light-hearted way, we want to draw attention to the special nature of this freedom, which may have become self-evident for young people.
We play sports together, guided by the core values that rugby stands for: respect, discipline, and camaraderie.
Register your team as soon as possible to be sure of participation via the online registration form (available from 30 January 2026). In addition to a fun and sporting day at our tournament, every player will receive a picnic lunch and a keepsake.
