Op 17 januari 2026 speelden de Colts hun eerste wedstrijd van het nieuwe jaar tegen CL Westrand CO 2 in Haarlem.
🔥 Dominante eerste helft
De wedstrijd begon voortvarend. Al binnen 14 minuten werd de eerste try gescoord. De eerste helft ging verder gelijk op wat betreft balbezit, maar Wasps/Wageningen/ was effectiever. Na 30 minuten volgde de tweede try en in de 34e minuut scoorde wij de derde try, inclusief de eerste conversie van de wedstrijd.
In de laatste minuut van de eerste helft werd nog een try toegevoegd, waardoor de ruststand uitkwam op een comfortabele 0–22 voorsprong.
🔄 Haarlem komt terug, Colts blijven scoren
Na rust kwam Haarlem fel uit en wist al snel hun eerste try te scoren. Wasps/Wageningen liet zich echter niet van de wijs brengen. In de 45e minuut volgde opnieuw een try voor ons, ditmaal weer met een conversie.
Tussen de 56e en 60e minuut kreeg het team het lastig en incasseerden we plotseling 14 punten, waardoor de spanning even terugkeerde. Gelukkig herpakten de Colts zich snel en wisten in de 60e minuut opnieuw te scoren.
🏁 Verdiende overwinning
Met goed teamwork, effectieve afronding en veerkracht in de tweede helft werd de wedstrijd overtuigend afgesloten met een 14–36 overwinning.
Een sterke start van het nieuwe jaar en een mooie basis om verder te bouwen!
Strong start to the year for the Colts against CL Westrand CO 2
On 17 January 2026, the Colts played their first match of the new year against CL Westrand CO 2 in Haarlem.
🔥 Dominant first half
The match got off to a flying start. Within just 14 minutes, the first try was scored. The first half continued with fairly even possession, but Wasps/Wageningen were more effective. After 30 minutes, the second try followed, and in the 34th minute we scored our third try, including the first conversion of the match.
In the final minute of the first half, another try was added, bringing the halftime score to a comfortable 0–22 lead.
🔄 Haarlem fight back, Colts keep scoring
After the break, Haarlem came out strongly and quickly managed to score their first try. Wasps/Wageningen, however, were not unsettled. In the 45th minute, we scored another try, once again converted.
Between the 56th and 60th minute, the team went through a difficult spell and suddenly conceded 14 points, briefly bringing the tension back into the game. Fortunately, the Colts quickly regrouped and managed to score again in the 60th minute.
🏁 Well-deserved victory
With strong teamwork, effective finishing, and resilience in the second half, the match was convincingly wrapped up with a 14–36 victory.
