Zaterdag 10 september was een historische dag voor de U14 (Cubs) van Rugby Club Wageningen: ze speelden hun eerste oefenwedstrijd tegen Zevenaar/Doetinchem, bij gastheren de Duuvels. Waarom historisch? Omdat het voor het eerst is dat RCW een eigen Cubs team heeft en niet meer hoeft te clusteren met andere teams. En wat maakt z’n historische dag dan nog mooier (ondanks het wisselvallige weer)? Een mooie pot rugby met spelers die voor elkaar wil strijden, goed tackelen, rucks weten te winnen en de lijn weten te gebruiken. De inzet werd beloond met een 60-12 overwinning. Een mooie oefening voor de competitie die zaterdag 17 september begint!
Saturday 10 September was a historic day for the U14 (Cubs) of Rugby Club Wageningen: they played their first practice match against Zevenaar/Doetinchem, hosted by de Duuvels. Why historical? Because this marks the first time RCW has its own Cubs team and no longer needs to cluster with other teams. And what made his historic day even more beautiful (despite the changeable weather)? A nice game of rugby with players who want to fight for each other, tackle well, win rucks and use the line. The efforts were rewarded with a 60-12 win. A nice exercise for the competition that starts on Saturday 17 September!
