Last season, the RCW Ladies were promoted from the 3rd to the 2nd class. The first game of the season we were quite nervous, what should we expect from the level in the 2th class? Our attitude was just to have fun and show good rugby. And we did, because we won the first few matches! Then things suddenly went very fast and we climbed further. We read in the competition regulations that the top-2 would go to the promotion pool, where they could play against 1st class teams. Would we succeed? It came down to the last game in December, in Schagen against the Foeste Moiden. It was a blood-curdling game, which was eventually lost by 1 point – 8-7 for the girls from North Holland. A third place in the standings for us. At the start of the season we would have been very happy with that, but now that it went so well we were a bit disappointed, because the chance to play in the promotion pool had come very close.

That was, until we saw the reclassification of the competition in the first week of January: we have made it to the promotion pool! Completely unexpected, but everyone is super happy. Together with 2 other teams from the 2nd class and 3 teams from the 1st class, we’ll compete for a place in the 1st class for the rest of this season! We will work hard, play rugby and of course also have fun, and hopefully we can show great results! Do you want to come and cheer us on? You can find all our matches and results at this link.
