Op 22 augustus was er een petanque evenement. Het was een internationaal gezelschap waarbij een van de deelnemers zelfs uit China was gekomen.
In totaal waren er 10 teams die streden om de coupe soleil. De petanque was iets anders. De door sommigen meegebrachte ballen mochten in de tas blijven. In plaats van ijzeren ballen hebben we rugbyballen gebruikt. De wedstrijden werden op het veld gespeeld. Er was stokbrood met kaasjes, worst, pastis en bier om te zorgen dat niemand hongerig of uitgedroogd was. Na het spelen van de halve finales en finale werden Reijer en Nick de winnaars van dit jaar. Zij mogen volgend jaar het petanque evenement regelen.
On August 22nd, a pétanque event took place, featuring an international crowd — with one participant even coming all the way from China. A total of 10 teams competed for the Coupe Soleil.
This wasn’t your typical game of pétanque: some brought their own boules, but those could stay in the bag — we played with rugby balls instead. The matches were held on the field, and there was plenty of baguette, cheese, sausage, pastis, and beer to keep everyone well-fed and hydrated.
After the semifinals and final were played, Reijer and Nick emerged as this year’s winners. They now have the honor of organizing next year’s pétanque tournament.
