Zaterdag 30 augustus hebben we met meer dan 100 kinderen het seizoen geopend. Natuurlijk begonnen met Hollandse Leeuwen waarbij de oudste en jongste begonnen als hongerige leeuwen (tikkers). Toen iedereen lekker warmgedraaid was, stond er een circuit met trainingsoefeningen voor ze klaar. Na een heel ruim uur sporten was het tijd om de energie weer aan te vullen. Maar eerst nog even geduld, de voorzitter wil natuurlijk het seizoen officieel openen. Hij heeft het eerste lot van de grote club actie gekocht. Daarmee gaan we sparen voor de jeugdtrips op het einde van dit seizoen. En daarna was het eindelijk tijd om aan te vallen op de picknick. Iedereen had voor veel lekker gezorgd! Wat een mooie ochtend om elkaar weer te zien en weer rugby te gaan spelen!
De grote club actie gaat op 20 september van start. Dan mogen de kinderen loten verkopen, waarvan 80% voor de club is! Dat geld gaan we inzetten voor de jeugdtrips.
On Saturday, August 30th, we kicked off the season with over 100 children. We naturally started with a game of “Dutch Lions,” where the youngest and oldest players began as hungry lions (taggers).
Once everyone was warmed up, a training circuit with various exercises was ready for them. After more than an hour of sports, it was time to recharge — but first, a little patience, as the chairman wanted to officially open the season. He purchased the very first ticket for the Great Club Raffle, which will help us raise money for the youth trips at the end of the season.
And then, finally, it was time to dive into the picnic. Everyone had brought delicious food! What a wonderful morning to see each other again and get back to playing rugby!
The Great Club Raffle officially starts on September 20th. From then on, the kids can start selling tickets, with 80% of the proceeds going to the club — all of it for the youth trips!
